Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is designed to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an e-mail message can be sent from one address, but to appear as being sent from a different one, generally with the purpose to fraud the recipient for some reason. When SPF protection is activated for a domain, a specific record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers around the world get it. The record features all of the e-mail servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an email address part of the domain. When a message is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the target destination. If, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the specified domain, the email message will not be submitted and it'll be removed. If you employ this service, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam emails which appear to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for each domain name hosted in a cloud hosting account on our cloud platform with just a couple of mouse-clicks. The option can be found in the Emails section of our amazing Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to activate it is to pick one of your domains from a drop-down list and enter the hostnames as well as the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers that will be permitted to send emails from your emails. As an added option you can also restrict the emails to be sent from your domain only when it has our MX records, i.e. if our servers handle the emails for it, not a third-party supplier. This option gives you the highest level of protection, but it's not applicable in case only your website is on our servers while your email addresses for the domain are handled somewhere else. Either way, our SPF protection service will keep your email addresses secure from being used for spam or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection function is featured with all of the semi-dedicated services, so when you host your domains in an account on our cloud website hosting platform, you're able to activate this service without difficulty for any of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a quite user-friendly interface, which means that you don't need to be proficient in the use of computers in order to secure your e-mail addresses. You will only need to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you would like to be authorized to send emails from your addresses and shortly after that the updated record will be activated for the domain that you've chosen. As an extra option, we will also allow you to control the outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes even further by allowing e-mail messages to be sent only when the domain in question contains our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain need to be managed here and not by another company. In this way you'll have even better control and there will not be any chances for any person to forge your e-mail addresses for harmful uses.
